Philanthropy & Trusts

There are around 105,000 people living with a spinal cord injury in the UK, and the number continues to grow. In 2024–25, 37% of new spinal cord injuries referred to specialist centres resulted in tetraplegia. Each year we meet individuals whose lives change in an instant—often young, active people who suddenly face paralysis from the shoulders down. Their independence, employment, mobility and emotional wellbeing can all be profoundly affected, and many require specialist equipment and support simply to live with dignity and autonomy.

How We Help

At Regain – The Charity for Tetraplegics, we work to ensure that people living with tetraplegia across the UK are supported to rebuild independence and opportunity after spinal cord injury. Through grants and practical support, we help individuals access essential specialist equipment and support that can transform everyday life. Our personal and group development programmes also help people rebuild confidence, strengthen wellbeing, and reconnect with their ambitions for the future.

Our Impact

  • Over £80,000 awarded in equipment grants each year
  • 150 individuals supported across the UK
  • Up to 8 personal and group development programmes delivered annually

We are always grateful to connect with trusts, foundations and partners who share our commitment to improving the lives of people living with tetraplegia.
