About us

Practical help

For people with tetraplegia, everyday tasks often require help. Without the right wheelchairs and adapted vehicles, people can quickly become trapped in their own homes. Regain exists to make sure this doesn’t happen. We fund:

    • Accessible housing
    • Wheelchairs and mobility equipment
    • Voice activated computers

And much more.

Emotional support

Tetraplegia turns life on its head. Losing the use of your limbs is, of course, a huge physical challenge, but people rarely talk about the emotional impact. Suddenly, all the things that brought you joy, like swimming, dancing, and even cooking, are taken from you. And it’s easy to feel lost, especially in the weeks following injury.

Regain supports people with tetraplegia from the start and into the future by:

  • Building social connections – Connecting people with others who’ve faced the same challenges, so they can share guidance, encouragement, and lived experience.
  • Communication support – Offering computers and voice-activated software to make socialising, studying, and working possible again.
  • Specialist equipment – Supplying lightweight and electric wheelchairs, e-motion wheels, and adapted sports chairs for rugby, tennis, cycling, and more.

For many, life after injury has led to achievements they never thought possible — from Paralympic medals to university degrees, vocational skills, and dream careers.

Our mission

To improve the quality of life for people living with tetraplegia after spinal injury, helping them regain independence, opportunity, and joy.

Our vision

A world where every person with tetraplegia can live freely, fully, and with equal opportunity.

Our aims

To help people with tetraplegia lead independent, fulfilling lives by part- or fully funding equipment and facilities that improve mobility, communication, educational options and employment opportunities.

  • Raise vital funds – through donations, events, sponsorship, legacies, and gifts.
  • Provide personal support – Building lasting relationships with people with tetraplegia, their families, and carers, offering guidance and encouragement.
  • Impactful partnerships – Collaborating with other spinal injury charities and partners to deliver lasting benefits for our community.
  • Education and awareness – Increasing public understanding of risks to help reduce accidents leading to tetraplegia.
  • Lead with integrity and accountability – Committing to best practice in the governance and leadership of Regain.
